
South African Xitsonga Rapper and a producer. Mafuko Sipho Malatji was born on 18 January 1991, GaModjadji Mothomeng village (Tzaneen).
He spent his early life living GaModjadji where he attended Mothomeng primary school. He grew up dreaming to be a martial artist until he moved with his mother and siblings to live in Giyani, Dzumeri Mageva Village. He was good at memorising songs lyrics and grew Up around family that loved music.
When he relocated to Mageva village in December 2003, he attended his last primary class ( grade 7 ) at Charlie-Rhangani. In 2005 he went to Nghonyama high school till he completed his matric in 2010.
In 2010, while he was in matric, he developed much love for RNB and Hip hop music. He then realised that there are local artists who rap in Xitsonga and gathered theirs songs and used to play them after school.
By listening to xitsonga hip hop, he was getting to understand better what hip hop really was and that made him start writing his own lyrics just to see if he also can rap.
After 12th grade ( 2011 ), he decided to find a studio around the village and so he could find out if he really could rap on the beat. He met DJ Cosatu who had a tiny home studio where there was Mash P hu could play RNB hip hop beats.
He then formed a crew of 4 members, Master Pro, Donza, DK and himself “Sphola” and the made a single track that was loved around Dzumeri villages. In 2012, his crew members went to Gauteng province to further theirs studies and he remained at home. He then joined Love Life youth at N’wamitwa wherever he spent some time living there with his cousin who had a computer and speakers.
He started teaching himself how to play beats and record using his cousin’s computer. He felt well taught in producing a song in November 2013 where he made his 1st loved single “Xitiko na Mbhawula”. That is when he transformed his music career and even changed his name from “Sphola” to “Xphola” and that is when he met his chorus maker “Jay
