Nomcebo Zikode, a Grammy award-winning singer, has been tirelessly working behind the scenes while battling record label issues regarding unpaid royalties for her previous hit, Jerusalema. Now, she is prepared to introduce her first signed artist at Emazulwini Productions, her own label.
The singer-songwriter, Sykes (real name Ayabonga Zuma), has finally unveiled his highly anticipated new single titled “Sisekakeni Babies” on all major platforms. This release follows the song’s initial explosion and viral success on the popular social media platform TikTok in May. After years of being on the verge of achieving mainstream recognition, the 22-year-old Gqom-Tech and Dance musician has finally established himself as a legitimate star within the local music scene.
In the past month alone, Sykes’ TikTok following has skyrocketed from 500 followers to over 23K. “I’m extremely excited to finally release this single after all the online buzz,” he expresses. “Initially, I was worried about missing the opportunity if I took too long, but the anticipation just keeps growing.” The new single revolves around letting go of worries and enjoying oneself with close friends. “It’s amusing because everyone interprets it as a signal that trouble is coming when this guy drops a track. But all I meant was that the ladies are in trouble because we’re about to embark on a luxurious trip, spending money and indulging in all those extravagant things.”
Sykes is the first artist to sign under Nomcebo’s label. “Sykes possesses an extraordinary talent, and numerous record labels pursued him,” Nomcebo proudly states. “I’m thrilled that he chose us and had faith in our collaboration for this new hit single.
