The allegations stem from Shange’s tenure as a casting director for Rhythm World Production, where she was responsible for recruiting talent for various productions.

It is alleged that she manipulated invoices from agencies supplying extras by altering banking details and amounts, redirecting funds to an unidentified business purportedly connected to her, and failing to pay the agencies.

The alleged fraud came to light when unpaid agencies confronted Rhythm World Productions, leading to an internal investigation. Shange has denied the allegations, claiming her contract with the production ended three months before the discovery of the fraud.

She was released on R5,000 bail, and her case has been postponed to 26 September 2025 for further investigation .

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has stated its commitment to ensuring justice is served and will provide updates as the case progresses.
