SARS to Auction Off MaMkhize’s 14 Luxury Vehicles Over R37 Million Tax Debt
Businesswoman and tenderpreneur Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is at risk of losing 14 high-end vehicles as the South African Revenue Service (SARS) moves to recover R37 million in unpaid taxes. The vehicles, registered under Royal AM Football Club—which she owns with her son Andile Mpisane—will be auctioned online by Bidders Choice Group from 27 June to 2 July 2025.
The luxury collection includes a 2020 Bentley Continental GTC valued at over R4 million, a rare 2022 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach “Edition 100” (one of just 100 globally), a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen ONYX, and a 2022 BMW i7 xDrive60. Due to the outstanding tax debt, a court-appointed curator has taken control of the club’s assets and is overseeing the liquidation process.
Meanwhile, MaMkhize has taken legal action against the Premier Soccer League (PSL) following Royal AM’s expulsion from the competition. The PSL alleges that the club submitted misleading information during its membership renewal in July 2024, falsely naming MaMkhize and Andile Mpisane as directors instead of the listed director, Shamish Sadab.
Defending herself in court, MaMkhize stated: “When we submitted the renewal on 1 July 2024, Mpisane and I were the official directors. That was the truth.” She also blamed the team’s absence from fixtures on a court order secured by SARS in November 2024, which froze the club’s accounts. According to her, this prevented the curator, Jaco Venter, from paying players and staff.
MaMkhize further argued that the PSL aggravated the situation by cutting Royal AM’s monthly R2.3 million grant. “By cutting the grant and suspending our matches, the league itself contributed to the problems,” she claimed in her affidavit.
