Mamelodi Sundowns legend Tiyani Mabunda took a swipe at rival supporters while explaining his role as an ambassador at the South African champions.
“I never thought our supporters could be so united in going beyond just supporting the club, they’ve started supporting one another. They build houses for one another, they check if someone is having food and if everything is okay at home,” Mabunda said at Chloorkop at the Live Limitless Internship Launch.
“It’s no longer just about the football that’s played out on the field, but supporters have become a very big family, even though we are 57, we are impactful, right now you can see all our supporters, everywhere, we’re the only ones you see.”
“I heard one of the guys say Mamelodi Sundowns have been one of the most supportive when it comes to media but that’s because we’re the only ones who have something to say to the media. What can anyone else say? It’s the truth, what else can we say,” he continued.
“The media needs to talk to the people that are actually doing what is required for the media, our supporters are doing such wonderful work, you can see everywhere, it’s just yellow, we’ve got pride in our club.”
