POLOKWANE: The Seshego Polokwane Taxi Association have on Tuesday shut down the Polokwane Smelter mine of Anglo American.
This is as the Association is demanding a contract to transport the workers.
The list of demands includes
1. The hiring of local people. They say there will be a list of people, especially young the young ones.
2. All taxis that are not from local taxi associations must not operate.
3. They must use guest houses and lodges owned by our Black brothers and sisters.
4. They must stop outsourcing services from outside the Limpopo province.
5. Subcontracting should benefit all, not two families there.
They have given them until the 26 July 2022 to respond.
