Giyani, Limpopo – A man from Nkowankowa has been arrested in connection with the theft of livestock from a farm in Mphakane Village, following a swift response from the Giyani police and vigilant community members.
According to police reports, the suspect was apprehended at Makabele Farm after being found in possession of five goats inside a vehicle. Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the individual is a resident of Nkowankowa and was seen earlier herding the stolen livestock in the nearby area of Mphangani.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was quickly pursued and captured by local authorities with the assistance of community members. However, his alleged accomplices managed to evade arrest and are currently being sought by law enforcement.
During questioning, the arrested man revealed that he had been working alongside two young men from Mphangani. Further reports suggest that the vehicle used in the attempted theft matches the description of one previously seen in cross-border livestock theft cases.
Police investigations are ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the accomplices to come forward.
