Award-winning singer and songwriter Sho Madjozi, born Maya Wegerif, has officially welcomed her first child.
The star managed to keep her pregnancy away from the spotlight, only revealing the news during an intimate baby shower celebrated with close friends and family. Shortly after, she surprised fans with a heartfelt photo series showcasing her pregnancy journey. The images included radiant snapshots of her baby bump, culminating in touching moments from the hospital after her baby’s arrival. She captioned the post simply: “Finally.”
This comes after years of speculation. Three years ago, fans suspected Sho Madjozi might have been expecting when they noticed what they described as a “cute fupa” in one of her pictures, but she later dismissed the rumors. This year, however, Buzz Life News was the first to confirm that the John Cena hitmaker was indeed expecting, after reports emerged of her hosting a baby shower.
While the singer has continued to release music, she shocked fans last year when she announced that she was stepping back from the music industry, citing exhaustion and disillusionment with the pressures of modern-day fame.
“The way that the music industry is set up at the moment, you spend more time trying to get attention,” she explained. “I want to do a lot more work in the areas that I really love. You have to spend so much more time just to post things that are gonna trend, you have to dance this on social media, post this, do this public stunt.”
