It is alleged that on the early days of March this year 2022, the notorious male suspect “Manizo” shot and killed a young woman at a tavern at Morutji village in full view of patrons and was on the run since then.
On Monday, Tzaneen saps TTT (Tzaneen Tracing Team) followed up information that led to the arrest of the notorious murder suspect at Mahlakaamosoma village Bolobedu and later on recovered a firearm a 9mm norinco pistol believed to be a murder weapon with serial numbers filled off at Relela. The suspect is alleged to be a member of a popular music group, Bad Company.
“Three female suspects who are believed to be the wife ,the aunt and the mother in law of the murder suspect were also arrested for defeating the ends of justice by trying to hide the murder weapon from the police at Relela”, said.
Sgt Maurice Nkhwashu of Tzaneen Police.
He further revealed that investigations led to the recovery of two more 9am Norinco firearms with serial numbers also filled from two male suspects who are believed to be part of a criminal syndicate with the murder suspect.
Investigation is still underway and the suspects will appear in court soon.
